Originally built in 1929 as Justesen's Market, the building was later used as Moe's Toy store, owned and operated by Byron Washburn. It later became a popular pizza restaurant named Poor Richards. It was also a popular Mexican Restaurant Hanford Cantina before closing. When the market was here, there were roll-up doors on the Douty Street side where the pizza windows are, making it a semi open-air market.

It is currently undergoing several renovation projects under the direction of local entrepreneur Nathan Odom.
