The Carnegie Library building was constructed in 1905 and is not accessible for those with limited mobility. The Executive Board of the Carnegie Museum of Kings County has launched a campaign to install a wheelchair lift, new landing, and back door to make the museum accessible to all. When the City of Hanford had a study conducted in 2023, the cost estimate was roughly $175,000 to complete a similar plan.

We are seeking donations, grants, etc. to help make this dream a reality. We will be updating the public regularly as to the status of the project. If you would like to contribute to the project however large or small, please contact President Rob Bentley at carnegieofhanford@gmail.com
